New Referrals!

Gladney announced in a conference call today that CCAA has sent out more referrals. We have been anxiously awaiting referrals as they usually are announced at the beginning of each month. These have been delayed because of the Chinese New Year. The actual New Year Day is Feb. 17, but offices shut down for several weeks.

The referrals only go through Oct. 24, 2005 which is only 11 days since the last batch. Our LID is 11/22/05. We are closer, but if CCAA keeps this pace it may be another month later than we have been thinking. Steve and I are now projecting June for our referral. Sigh....

For those adoption newbies (who isn't?) a referral is the package of info. about your child. We will get several pictures, medical info., chinese name, where she is at, and anything else they may have. Once we have the referral, we apply for travel approval. We would ostensibly travel 6 weeks later.

So today is a day of celebration for all those families that received referrals, and a bit of angst at the sloooow process.

Steve and I have enjoyed reading the comments posted on the site and the emails sent to us. Thanks so much-it really does mean the world to us.
