Another Round of Referrals Has Arrived...

And we are not in them. But we didn't suspect we would be this time. Here it is officially:

"The CCAA has finished the placement of children for the families whose adoption application documents were registered with our office before November 7, 2005."

So six days. It sounds like we are so close, but we really are quite further away than we were. If they continue to refer in 6 day batches, then it looks like we are set for early September. I am just so thankful we are really close. There are reports in Rumor Queen (see link) that many people are dropping out and going to another program. It is just so sad. Steve and I have talked about our next adoption. China does not seem viable any longer. Talk is that China may eventually shut their doors altogether. It would not be unheard of since S. Korea does very few international adoptions, and Russia has closed their doors to any new families, and Guatamala is having severe problems. There are several programs that have opened up recently, but so many families are flocking to them that they are having trouble keeping up. The main two new programs are Ethiopia and Vietnam. We aren't so sure about any of them right now. I guess we will cross that bridge when we get to it.

I am just thrilled that adoptions are still going forward albeit ever so slowly. She or he will be worth the wait!

I've enjoyed helping a little with the nursery and clothing -but needless to say am really looking forward to having our newest little addition nearby.

Hang in there! When it is time to decide on the next baby things might be different...i.e. w/China or another program.
We feel the same on the domestic adoption decision and also get that question frequently. It does seem the questions are fewer once you have your baby. Some people think twice before asking personal questions when there is a little one to ewhh and ahh over. Although the check out guy at Wal-Mart asked me yesterday "Are those your original children?" No one has put it that way before. Kind of comical.

Jen and Steve,

Gracie's web site is beautiful. Hopefully, September will be your lucky month -- it's the 9th month of the year, which is my lucky # and therefore the number of the chosen (I always makeup beliefs to suit myself). Hope you enjoy water aerobics -- I taught them when we lived in Amarillo and I sure could use some now. I still weight about the same but gravity keeps pulling everything down -- if I don't do something soon I'll look like a pear.

When Gracie arrives, be sure to get pictures of your older "babies" -- I can't wait to see their reaction -- and hers.

If you need a change of pace before Gracie arrives, come on down and see us -- we'd love to have you.

Take care,

Love,

Jenny

Jenny and Steve,

My name is Nellie Parrish my husband and I read your site about Grace through Tina Parrish. We just wanted you to know that we are praying for you two. It is hard for us to understand what you are going through but in our hearts we know that God will richly bless you. Your little will be greatly blessed having you two to love and care for her. We will continue to pray and we know that God will strengthen you two through this time. May the Lord bless and keep you.

Love in Christ,
Mark, Nellie, and Hunter
